What a way to end 2016!

Here are some of our team pics that Michelle took. They are showing up upside down on my screen but right side up when I actually open them....!?!

Congratulations again to us!! I hope you are all still enjoying the happy memory of our success this weekend. The Bronze in the sprint race was a wonderful accomplishment -- we have never been that far up in the Cup race before. There used to be two divisions and we only recently made it to the higher division and are now medaling in it. I'm thrilled with this. Also, our time in the race, 58 seconds, is excellent. The Sprint hasn't been our strongest race but, we "showed them" this weekend.

I'm very pleased with the 500 metre races too. We maintained very consistent time throughout the weekend and once again got into the division we did last year (J). Each year, we continue to improve and get stronger. Well done everyone!

Thank you for having me, once again, as your captain. I still thoroughly enjoy the job and appreciate that no one is fed up with me yet -- or at least, is keeping quiet about it if they are! I love this team very much and am proud of how far we have come over the last 14 years. You are all wonderful people to paddle and work with.

For now, I look forward to our annual team dinner in the fall as well as moving forward into our 15th year (next season). I wish you all a wonderful summer and thank you again for such a fantastic race weekend together.
